If you wear spectacles, smart glasses are only useful if the lenses carry your eye power. The good news is that you can order several AI Chashma models with your own prescription, online, and receive them fitted and ready to wear. This guide explains how to read a typical eye prescription in plain words, which prescriptions we can make, and exactly how ordering works on our site.

Why smart glasses need your power built in

Smart glasses sit where your spectacles sit, so you cannot comfortably wear both at once. Using smart glasses without your power is not an option if you need correction to see clearly. The practical solution is to have your prescription made into the smart glasses' lenses, so one pair does both jobs: corrected vision plus calls, music and, on camera models, photos and an AI assistant.

How to read your eye prescription

Prescriptions from opticians and eye doctors in India usually follow the same layout. The American Academy of Ophthalmology has a useful guide to reading an eyeglasses prescription if you want more detail. Here are the main terms.

Right eye and left eye (RE/LE or OD/OS)

Your prescription lists each eye separately. RE or OD is the right eye; LE or OS is the left eye. The two values are often different, so copy each one carefully.

SPH (sphere)

This is the main lens power, measured in dioptres. A minus sign (−) means you are short-sighted: distant things look blurred. A plus sign (+) means you are long-sighted: close-up things, such as reading, are harder. The further the number is from zero, the stronger the lens.

CYL (cylinder) and AXIS

CYL shows how much astigmatism you have, which is when the eye focuses unevenly. AXIS is a number between 1 and 180 that tells the lab which direction that correction should run. If the CYL column is blank or shows zero, you have no astigmatism correction in that eye.

ADD (addition)

ADD is extra power for reading, typically used in bifocal or progressive lenses. If your prescription has an ADD value, you have been prescribed a multi-focal lens.

Single vision, bifocal and progressive

  • Single vision: the same power across the whole lens, for either distance or near.
  • Bifocal: two zones in one lens, usually distance on top and reading at the bottom.
  • Progressive: a gradual change from distance to near power with no visible line.

Which prescriptions AI Chashma supports

We currently make single-vision lenses only. Bifocal and progressive lenses are not supported. In practice:

  • On the product page you choose Zero Power (no correction), Positive Power (long-sighted, +) or Negative Power (short-sighted, −).
  • You then enter the power for your right eye and left eye. The lens selector shows a power range of 0.25 to 4.00.
  • If your prescription includes a CYL value, an ADD value, a power outside that range, or one plus eye and one minus eye, please call us on +91 81188 28584 before ordering. We will tell you honestly whether we can make it.

We check every prescription before production, and orders with an unsupported prescription or without a prescription upload are rejected rather than made incorrectly. The full rules are in our prescription lens policy.

Which smart glasses you can order with power

Eight models accept single-vision prescription lenses:

  • Camera and built-in AI assistant: Cam Aura (from ₹9,790), Cam Royale (from ₹10,790) and Cam Spire (from ₹12,590).
  • Longest battery among audio models: Lite Pilot and Lite Drift (from ₹3,290), up to 8 hours playback.
  • Lightweight everyday frames: Lite Air (from ₹2,790) and Lite Feather (from ₹3,490).
  • More colour choice: Lite Flow (from ₹3,190).

Shade Shift, Shade Urban, Lite Neo, Lite Breeze and Action Velocity come with fixed lenses and are not currently offered with power.

Choosing a lens type with your power

With power lenses, you pick one of three lens types:

  • Clear: the standard option, included in the starting price.
  • Blue Tick: lenses with an anti-glare coating, aimed at people who spend long hours on screens. Adds ₹1,000.
  • Photochromic: lenses that darken in sunlight and turn clear indoors, so your power glasses also work as power sunglasses. Adds ₹2,000.

These upgrade prices are the same on every model. The product page always shows the final price before you add to cart. If you mostly want auto-tint lenses and do not need power, our photochromic smart glasses have them as standard.

How to order, step by step

  1. Pick a frame from the eight prescription-ready models and open its product page.
  2. Click "Select prescriptive lenses" and choose Positive or Negative power.
  3. Choose your lens upgrade: Clear, Blue Tick or Photochromic.
  4. Enter your power for the right eye and left eye, exactly as written on your prescription.
  5. Upload a photo or scan of your prescription. This is mandatory for every power order.
  6. Confirm and check out. Shipping is free across India.

How long it takes

Power lenses are made to order for you, so glasses with prescription lenses take 7–14 working days. Glasses without power are dispatched within 1 working day and delivered in 3–5 working days to metro cities and 5–10 working days to other locations.

Tips to avoid mistakes

  • Use a recent prescription. Eye power can change. If yours is old, or you have noticed blurred vision, get your eyes tested before ordering.
  • Do not mix up the eyes. Right and left values are often different. Double-check before you confirm.
  • Check the sign. −1.50 and +1.50 are very different lenses.
  • Make the upload readable. A clear, well-lit photo with all values visible helps us verify it quickly.
  • Ask if unsure. Our team can help you read your prescription on +91 81188 28584.

Common questions

Can I order without power?

Yes. Choose Zero Power in the lens selector. No prescription is needed, and the glasses are dispatched within 1 working day and delivered in 3–5 working days to metro cities and 5–10 working days to other locations.

Can I use my contact lens prescription?

No. Contact lens and spectacle prescriptions are not always the same, so use your spectacle prescription.

Can I change the lenses later?

The lenses are made and fitted for the frame you order. If your power changes in future, call us to discuss options before buying a new pair.

Returns, replacement and warranty

Because prescription lenses are made specifically for you, they cannot be returned or exchanged after production. If the lenses do not match the prescription you shared, contact our support team on +91 81188 28584; once this is verified, we refund the cost of the lenses. If your glasses arrive damaged or defective, or you receive the wrong model, you can request a replacement within 7 days of delivery; an unboxing video is required for any replacement claim. Every pair also carries a 6-month warranty against manufacturing defects, under which the product is replaced. This is why entering the correct power and uploading a clear prescription matters.

Ready to order?

If your prescription is single vision within the supported range, ordering smart glasses with your power takes a few minutes. Start with our smart glasses with power lens range, read the prescription lens policy, and call us if anything on your prescription is unclear.
