Smart sunglasses for calls and music outdoors
Smart sunglasses put speakers, a microphone and touch controls into a pair of shades. You take calls, play music and reach your phone's voice assistant without earbuds, while tinted, UV-protected lenses on most models help on bright days. Six models are listed here, from Lite Neo at ₹2,790 to Cam Aura at ₹9,790, all with free shipping across India.
What are smart sunglasses?
Smart sunglasses, also called Bluetooth sunglasses or audio sunglasses, look and work like a normal pair of shades but connect to your phone over Bluetooth. Small open-ear speakers sit in the temples, close to your ears, and a built-in microphone picks up your voice for calls. You control calls and music by touching, sliding or tapping the frame, depending on the model. A rechargeable battery in the frame powers everything and charges with the cable in the box. Action Velocity, Lite Drift, Lite Neo and Lite Flow list sunglasses lenses in their specifications, and Lite Pilot lists UV protection lenses, so these frames are made with outdoor use in mind.
How do smart sunglasses play calls and music without earbuds?
The speakers in each temple direct sound towards your ears without sealing them the way earbuds do. You hear the caller or your playlist while still hearing traffic, station announcements and the people around you. When a call comes in, you answer or reject it from the frame, and you play, pause and switch songs the same way. Voice assistance works through your phone: from the frame you can reach Siri or Google Assistant over Bluetooth to send a message, ask for directions or start a playlist. Because the speakers are open, someone sitting right next to you may hear a little sound at high volume, so keep it moderate in quiet places like a metro coach.
Which smart sunglasses should I buy?
All six handle Bluetooth calls and music. They differ in battery, controls, frame colours and whether you can add your eye power. Here is how they compare:
- Lite Neo: ₹2,790, sunglasses lenses, 220mAh battery, up to 6 hours playback, tap button controls
- Lite Flow: ₹3,190, Black, Yellow or Blue frame, up to 5 hours playback, accepts power lenses
- Lite Drift: ₹3,290, four frame colours, 180mAh battery, up to 8 hours playback, accepts power lenses
- Lite Pilot: ₹3,290, UV protection lenses, four frame colours, up to 8 hours playback, accepts power lenses
- Action Velocity: ₹3,590, sunglasses lenses, secure and lightweight fit, touch slide controls
- Cam Aura: ₹9,790, Sony 8MP camera and built-in AI assistant; it comes with clear lenses as standard rather than tinted ones
Are smart sunglasses good for driving and riding?
Tinted lenses cut the brightness on long drives and highway rides, and open-ear audio means you are not shut off from horns and sirens the way you can be with earbuds. Calls go through the frame, so your phone can stay in its mount. That said, smart sunglasses do not make distraction safe. Keep calls short, keep the volume low enough to hear traffic, follow local rules on phone use while driving and pull over for anything that needs your attention. If you ride a two-wheeler, try the frame with your helmet before a long trip, because fit varies from helmet to helmet. For running and cycling, see our sports smart glasses.
Can I get smart sunglasses with my eye power?
Yes, on four models. Lite Drift, Lite Pilot, Lite Flow and Cam Aura accept single-vision prescription lenses, made to order and delivered in about 7–14 working days. There is one trade-off to know first: power lenses come in Clear, Blue Tick or Photochromic, not in the standard sunglasses tint. If you want one pair that works indoors and outdoors, Photochromic is the closest option, because it darkens in sunlight and clears again inside. Bifocal and progressive lenses are not supported, and Action Velocity and Lite Neo are sold with their standard lenses only. To compare every model that takes eye power, see smart glasses with power lens, and for lenses that react to light, see photochromic smart glasses.
How long does the battery last on smart sunglasses?
Among the audio models, Lite Drift and Lite Pilot last longest, with 180mAh batteries rated for up to 8 hours of playback and up to 10 days of standby. Lite Neo follows with a 220mAh battery, up to 6 hours of playback and up to 10 days of standby. Action Velocity and Lite Flow give up to 5 hours of playback and up to 10 days of standby. Cam Aura has the largest battery on this page at 290mAh, rated for up to 12 hours of playback and up to 10 days of standby, although recording video uses more power. All six charge magnetically. Playback means continuous music or calls, so a day trip with a few calls rarely needs a top-up. Spare cables are on our chargers page.
