Smart eyeglasses for everyday wear
Smart eyeglasses are spectacles with Bluetooth audio built into the frame. You take calls, listen to music and use your phone's voice assistant through open-ear speakers, and you can wear them all day, indoors and out. Five models are listed here, from Shade Shift at ₹1,990 to Cam Royale at ₹10,790, and three of them take your eye power.
What are smart eyeglasses?
Smart eyeglasses, sometimes called Bluetooth eyeglasses or smart spectacles, are everyday glasses with small speakers, a microphone, touch controls and a rechargeable battery built into the temples. They pair with your phone over Bluetooth, so calls, music and voice assistance come through the frame instead of earbuds. Unlike sunglasses, they are meant to be worn indoors as well as outside, which is why the models here come with photochromic lenses or let you choose clear lenses with your power. Most are audio-only. Cam Royale adds a Sony 8MP camera and a built-in AI assistant with object recognition and AI translation, and sits alongside our other smart glasses with camera.
Do smart eyeglasses look like regular spectacles?
From a normal distance, mostly yes. The fronts use familiar spectacle shapes and the lenses stay see-through indoors, so they do not stand out in a meeting or a classroom. The difference is in the temples, which are a little thicker than on ordinary spectacles because they hold the speakers, battery and touch controls. There is also a charging point on the frame: magnetic on Lite Feather, Shade Urban and Cam Royale, and Type-C on Shade Shift. If you want a frame that feels light through long hours, Lite Air and Lite Feather are built around a lightweight design. Shade Urban and the White Shade Shift have photochromic lenses as standard (the Black Shade Shift has dark sunglass lenses), so they look like clear glasses indoors and darken outdoors.
Can you wear smart eyeglasses all day at the office?
Yes. You can keep them on through the workday and answer a call from the frame instead of looking for earbuds. Battery is the main thing to plan around. Lite Air, Lite Feather, Shade Shift and Shade Urban give up to 5 hours of continuous playback with up to 10 days of standby, and Cam Royale gives up to 12 hours of playback and up to 10 days of standby. Few people play audio non-stop, so one charge usually covers a working day of calls and some music, and you can top up at your desk. Keep the volume moderate in a shared office, because someone sitting right beside you may hear open-ear speakers at high volume.
Which smart eyeglasses should I buy?
Start with two questions: do you need your eye power, and do you want a camera? Then compare:
- Shade Shift: ₹1,990, photochromic lenses on the White frame, dark sunglass lenses on the Black, Type-C charging
- Lite Air: from ₹2,790, lightweight frame in White or Pink, accepts power lenses
- Shade Urban: ₹3,290, photochromic lenses as standard, magnetic charging
- Lite Feather: from ₹3,490, lightweight frame, accepts power lenses
- Cam Royale: from ₹10,790, Sony 8MP camera, built-in AI assistant, up to 12 hours playback, accepts power lenses
Can I get smart eyeglasses with my eye power?
Yes. Lite Air, Lite Feather and Cam Royale accept single-vision prescription lenses. You choose Clear, Blue Tick or Photochromic when you order, and the price on the product page changes with your choice; lens upgrades are offered only together with prescription power. Prescription orders take 7–14 working days in total. Bifocal and progressive lenses are not available. Shade Urban and the White Shade Shift come with photochromic lenses as standard (the Black Shade Shift has dark sunglass lenses). If you want to compare every model that takes a prescription, including camera models and sunglasses-style frames, go to smart glasses with power lens. Keep your latest prescription handy when you order, since the lenses are made to it.
Should I choose clear or photochromic lenses?
Choose by where you spend your day. Clear lenses suit people who are mostly indoors, at a desk, in class or in meetings, and want glasses that look like ordinary spectacles at all times. Photochromic lenses darken when you step into sunlight and clear again indoors, so one pair covers both the office and the commute. Blue Tick is a third option on Lite Air, Lite Feather and Cam Royale when you add your power. If you already know you want lenses that change with light, browse our photochromic smart glasses. If you will mostly wear them outdoors, for driving or travel, smart sunglasses with tinted lenses are a better fit.
